Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Birmingham on Alcester Road, Palermo Restaurant is a true gem for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. This charming eatery masterfully captures the essence of Italy with a menu brimming with classics that showcase both rich flavors and generous portions, making every visit a comforting delight.

Palermo’s signature dishes resonate with genuine Italian tradition. The frutti di mare pizza stands out as a crowd favorite, topped generously with fresh seafood including succulent prawns, tender mussels, and tender squid. The balanced flavors of the pizza manage to be vibrant without overpowering the palate—a perfect harmony of the ocean’s bounty. Another highlight is the pollo crema, where smoky, crisp vegetables contrast beautifully with a luscious, creamy sauce that elevates the entire dish to an indulgent experience. Equally tempting is the carbonara, luxuriously rich and satisfyingly smooth in every bite.

The dining atmosphere here adds a warm and inviting dimension to the culinary journey. Guests frequently praise Palermo for its cozy ambiance, where attentive and friendly staff make you feel instantly welcomed. Whether you’re stepping in for a casual dinner or a special family outing, the genuine hospitality adds an unforgettable layer to the meal. The space feels intimate yet relaxed—an ideal setting to savor both hearty classics and lighter vegetarian options, which the restaurant thoughtfully offers.

Customers consistently highlight the exceptional service as much as the food. From the moment you’re greeted by the welcoming owner to the prompt and courteous attention throughout your meal, Palermo makes it clear that customer experience is a priority. The combination of authentic dishes, satisfying portions, and personalized service crafts one of Birmingham’s most beloved Italian dining experiences.

For those visiting Palermo, a convenient, reasonably priced car park located just a short stroll away ensures stress-free access, so you can focus fully on the feast ahead. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast, a devotee of traditional pasta, or seeking a cozy spot to enjoy an evening with friends and family, Palermo Restaurant delivers a genuinely heartwarming and flavourful slice of Italy right in Birmingham.

For reservations or to explore the menu, the friendly team at Palermo can be reached at +44 121 449 6932. Be sure to book ahead where possible—Palermo’s reputation means tables can fill up fast, but the experience is always well worth the wait.

Today I have ordered the frutti de mare pizza, the carbonara, and the pollo crema. The vegetables for the pollo crema had been smoked a little and then added salt, which makes it crunchy. As well as that, the sauce was very creamy and rich, adding good flavour for the dish. The frutti de mare pizza had fresh seafood (such as: prawns, mussels, and squid) and the flavour was medium, which is very good. The crust was crunchy and it was made fresh, not from the stores. The spaghetti was very creamy and the staff offered extra Parmesan. The bacon in it was very delicious, because of the sauce that was added to the dish. To summarise, I would recommend this restaurant to you.

We stopped by Palermo and it was honestly one of the loveliest dining experiences we’ve had. The food was absolutely delicious — I had the lasagne, and my friend had the spaghetti bolognese. Both dishes were freshly made and were really good portions! The waiter who served us was so warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting — the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer. It is perfect for families, couples, friends, get together etc Small businesses like Palermo deserve all the love and support, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more & we recommend

Tagged along with the Wife and the book club she's in for food today, very nice food with filling portions too, I opted for the spaghetti bolognese which was full of flavour and a warm chocolate fudge cake for desert. The staff were welcoming, quick to take orders and bring drinks, there's a car park a quick walk down the road which is reasonably priced too.

Went for Mother's Day and I was pleasantly surprised on how nice and fresh the food tasted. The mussels (in the tomato sauce) were delicious and tasted super fresh. I had the steak salad and the beef was seasoned perfectly cooked exactly as requested and the fries were the perfect ratio of crisp to fluffy. Would definitely recommend going for good authentic Italian food. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly offering to hang up our coats when we entered the restaurant.
